ADHD Assessments

My ADHD Assessments are intended to be focused on answering the question: “Do I have ADHD?” ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is often evaluated as part of a larger comprehensive psychological assessment. My streamlined ADHD Assessments focus on evaluating all of the core components of ADHD, while screening for other explanations for ADHD-like symptoms such as other mental health disorders or life circumstances. This can be done without including lengthy psychological instruments for multiple domains that are not necessarily relevant to the question of whether or not ADHD is present.
Timeline: Assuming all requested documents are completed and returned in a timely fashion, an ADHD assessment can be completed in two-to-three weeks (from the initial clinical interview).
ADHD Assessments involve:
1. Clinical Interview (Virtual, 90 minutes)
- Gathering information from the client (or parents) about history of concerns, presentation, symptoms, behaviors, and areas of impairment.
2. Completion of Self/Other Report Questionnaires
- For Children/Teens: Questionnaires will be sent to be completed by caregivers and teachers (self-report for teens when relevant).
- For Adults: Questionnaires will be completed by the client and relevant other individuals in the client’s life who can speak to the client’s functioning.
3. Review of Records
- I request copies of most recent and historical report cards, any previous psychological/psychoeducational testing or individualized education plan reports, and other relevant documentation.
4. Further Testing (Where Indicated)
- Some additional tests, questionnaires, or screeners may be administered when necessary to clarify any needs.
5. Feedback Session (Virtual, 30 minutes)
- We will meet to discuss the results of the evaluation and I will provide a brief summary report (1-3 pages).
